About

Hello, you beautiful people!

Welcome to The Final Pages (or TFP or teh final pagez!1! or “that stupid site”) – a slightly basic review site where yours truly voices her opinions on books, as well as many other delightful forms of entertainment. We are all entitled to are own opinion, but as a dedicated reader, I sometimes feel that some books are unappreciated and deserve more of the limelight and so I have made it my mission to expose the readers – yes, you – to some books that I personally found wonderful (or perhaps even warn you about the worst of the worst).

But let’s get the introductions over with, shall we?

My name is Lisa (that is really all you need to know), though I tend to sign my posts with simply “L”, just… because I can. I’m a University student from England currently studying Creative Writing and am a very avid reader and aspiring writer. There, greetings over. Nice to meet you and so-on-and-so-forth. Let’s continue, shall we?

I am, in no way, a professional critic. But writing book reviews is nothing new for me, despite the amatuerish style in which this site is set (though I know about writing reviews, making a website is something I’m still new too). I’ve wrote reviews on books for years, usually alternating between different sites to voice my valueless opinion. Oh well, the internet is a big place.

In time, you’ll most likely be able to tell that, in fact, my favourite type of books are Young-Adult books. YA books have always been something of a love as I’ve never really been drawn to or into adult books and most older-teen books. YA books, specifically fantasy books, always seem to have something much more dearer. Yes, there aren’t many great YA books, but when you find the good ones, you REALLY find the good ones.

If you were to ask me what my favourite book is, I would have to say the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan.

However, I’m also a rather huge fan of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes. I’ve loved Sherlock Holmes since I was young and can read and re-read it time and time again. There is just no denying that Sherlock Holmes is a British Treasure.

And, if we’re talking about things I love, I’m also a bit of a fan of Shakespeare. I quite enjoy all (or at least most) of his plays (and poems, but I’m not a huge poem-fan) but I can easily tell you that my favourite character out of all of his work is Iago from Othello. Othello wasn’t a terribly amazing play (Romeo and Juliet is a high favourite) but Iago in definitely one of my top favourite characters.

And, and if anyone cares, I’m also quite a fan of manga. Not so much as I was when I was younger, but I enjoy a bit of Japanese artistry now and then.

Well, my rambling is other. Enjoy the site and hopefully you and I will become close friends. 🙂

Happy Reading!

~ L
